Sungkyu Seo

Sungkyu Seo is our Lab Manager. He received his B.S. in electrical engineering from Korea University, Seoul, Korea in Aug. 1998 and Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering from Texas A&M University, College Station, TX in Dec. 2007 where he has been a research and teaching assistant. Prior to his Ph.D. works, he was an assistant researcher for the Microsystems Lab. of the electrical engineering department at Korea University. From Jun. 1998 to Feb. 2002, he was an assistant manager on the technical staff of the R&D Group of Human Electronics. Honors include receiving 2009 Chancellor’s Award for Postdoctoral Research (UCLA, 2009), Outstanding Paper Award at the 2008 BMES fall meeting (Biomedical Engineering Society, 2008), Inside Edge 3rd International Thesis Competition Award – Gold Prize (Samsung, 2007), 2007 KUSCO-KSEA Scholarship, Best Poster Award (3rd prize) at the UKC 2007 Conference, and the Information Technology National Fellowship (Ministry of Information and Telecommunication of Korea, 2003). Seo holds 2 issued and 1 pending international patents (PCT), and he also co-authored more than 20 peer reviewed research papers, proceedings, and presentations in international journals and conferences. He is a member of IEEE, IEEE LEOS, IEC, and KSEA.
